Role: Cyber Security Solutions Architect

Overview
 
Our client, a leading Canadian crown corporation, is seeking an experienced Cyber Security Solutions Architect to support enterprise‑level initiatives within a complex and evolving technology environment. This role focuses on secure solution design, cyber risk assessment, and architecture governance across cloud‑based platforms, including advanced AI tooling.
 
Key Responsibilities

• Design and deliver secure end‑to‑end solution architectures aligned with business, operational, technical, and security requirements
• Assess technology solutions for compliance with corporate cyber security policies, directives, and standards
• Partner with project and delivery teams to identify, assess, and mitigate cyber security risks
• Apply threat modeling techniques to support cyber risk measurement and reporting
• Monitor emerging security technologies and industry trends, recommending solutions that enhance security posture and productivity
• Contribute to the development and improvement of cyber security architecture processes, standards, templates, and AI‑enabled tooling
• Collaborate with a wide range of internal stakeholders and participate in governance and working sessions
• Support additional architecture and cyber security activities as required

Required Qualifications

• University degree or college diploma in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field
• Minimum 10 years of recent experience in information technology
• Minimum 5 years of hands‑on experience in solutions architecture
• Minimum 5 years of experience working within a cyber security assessment or risk program
• Proven experience developing and applying security policies and technical security standards
• Strong knowledge of architecture and design methodologies (e.g., object‑oriented, component‑based, structured analysis)
• Demonstrated experience securing Microsoft Azure environments, including AI‑enabled platforms and tools such as:
• AI Foundry
• Microsoft Fabric
• GitHub Copilot
• Databricks

Nice‑to‑Have Qualifications

• Knowledge of Canadian financial market infrastructures
• Experience with cyber security frameworks and standards such as:
• NIST 800‑53
• ISO/IEC 27001 & 27002
• Familiarity with enterprise architecture frameworks and governance models
• Strong understanding of modern software architecture patterns and best practices
• Experience recommending or evaluating threat detection and mitigation tools in AI‑driven environments

Security & Technical Requirements

• Must be eligible for Secret‑level Government of Canada security clearance
• Candidates must have resided in Canada for a minimum of 5 years
