Role Overview
Our Client is seeking an experienced Unix Administrator (Solaris 11) to provide operational and platform support within its Core Infrastructure and Platform Services group. Working under the direction of the Assistant Director, the Consultant will support Solaris environments and contribute to system stability, patching, automation, and documentation practices.
Key Responsibilities
Assist with operational support for the Solaris 11 environment
Contribute to Solaris OS patching and remediation practices and cycles
Support the planning and execution of Solaris patch management using industry best practices
Assist with the installation, configuration, and tuning of Solaris servers using Oracle VM (OVM)
Provide input to and/or develop technical documentation, including build books and operational guides
Perform additional activities and deliverables as required
Required Qualifications & Skills
University degree or college diploma in Computer Science or a related field
Minimum 8 years of recent, demonstrated experience in:
Solaris 11
Unix system administration and hardware support
Build automation and administration tools, including:
Scripting and packaging
Ansible
OpsCenter
Additional Information
This role requires a hybrid work arrangement, with 12 onsite days per month
On‑call support and overtime may be required based on operational needs
Candidates must be eligible to obtain Secret security clearance
