Position: Senior Systems Administrator / Technical Architect
Client: Federal Government Client
Location: Onsite (National Capital Region)
Duration: Initially until October 30th (extension expected)

Background:  Our valued public sector client is seeking the services of a Senior Systems Administrator / Technical Architect to assist in managing several monolithic/legacy applications and some databases.  These include but are not limited to, Red Hat Enterprise Linux, Windows Server 2019, MS Certificate Manager, SQL Server, Oracle. The project involves authoring architecture documents in support of new tool and technology onboarding. The project is ongoing from now until October 2025, with a 1-year extension.
 
 
Qualifications:

• 10 years experience in System Administration (RHEL, Windows, Oracle, SQL)
• Ability and willingness to support existing in-house COTS applications
• Experience creating architecture documents for new tool and technology onboarding
• Valid Secret clearance with the Federal Government of Canada
• Experience with SQL scripts
• A valid certification in an Information Technology domain
• 5 years experience with VMWare 

 
Responsibilities/Deliverables:

• Install, monitor, upgrade and maintain operating systems
• Install, monitor, upgrade and maintain hardware and software
• Provide support for COTS applications, SQL databases
• Work with Business Analysts, Project Managers, Developers, and clients/stakeholders to maintain and improve software performance
• Apply problem solving skills to troubleshoot and resolve technical problems
• Ensure timely and reliable system administration procedures, such as backup and/or recovery
• Analyze system performance and recommend improvements
