Position: Intermediate Project Manager

Type: Contract
Duration: May 2025 - October 2025 (Possible extension post 6-month evaluation)
Location: Hybrid (1 day a week) – Downtown Toronto, Ontario
 
About the Role:
We are seeking an Intermediate Project Manager to oversee digital transformation IT-focused projects for a leading financial banking client. You will manage multiple small projects simultaneously that drive process automation and digitization initiatives. This role requires effective collaboration leading a cross-functional business IT team serving multiple business lines of the financial institution and communicating and reporting to stakeholders both within and outside your team.
 
Key Responsibilities:

• Manage 15-20 smaller projects concurrently in various stages (analysis, design, development, testing)
• Guide and delegate cross-functional teams of business analysts, UX design professionals, and collaborate with developers to ensure project success.
• Handle workflows involving dynamic/automation forms and eSignatures tools like DocuSign, OneSpan
• Lead and facilitate Agile ceremonies, including sprint meetings and daily standups.
• Facilitate and collaborate with stakeholders at all levels, including directors to gather requirements & prioritize intakes while maintaining standards/artefacts and documenting approvals.
• Provide updates and build/maintain reporting of project status to senior leadership and ensure alignment both internally and to external stakeholders as needed.
• Address scope creep and maintain adherence to project timelines by ensuring clear task ownership and tracking of progress to ensure alignment with business needs.
• Prioritize resources based on project status and deadline, manage risk, dependencies with legal, change management, testing (QA & SIT), production and post warranty, etc.
• Understand and help develop strategies to optimize data ingestion, architecture, governance and help streamline document digitization processes.

 
Qualifications:

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Business Administration, or a related field (or equivalent experience). Bonus if you have an MBA.
• Experience: 5+ years of experience in project management, preferably in the large financial or banking teams. Bonus if you have past Business Analyst and Product Management experience or Fintech experience in addition as well.
• Technical Skills: Proficiency in project management and IT tools (e.g., Monday.com, Excel, Confluence, Figma, JIRA, Microsoft Project, or similar), and familiarity with IT systems and process automation tools. Basic knowledge of XML/Javascript/JSON, Adobe InDesign & Figma along with BRD/FRD knowledge if any.
• Methodologies: Strong knowledge of Agile and Waterfall project management methodologies and practices including certifications such as PMP, CBAP, CSPO, SAFe, CSM, ITIL Foundation.
• Regulatory Expertise: Familiarity with past projects focused on transformation based on regulatory requirements and legislation impacts such as Bill 96, Bill 64 and Bill C-8.
• Interpersonal Skills: Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and collaborate with stakeholders at all levels, including reporting to executives and able to implement corrective actions on projects while managing multiple personalities.
• Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a proactive approach to identifying and overcoming challenges to help prevent downward issues and ability to present quick viable resolution.
• Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
