You may work in the COVID or the Bushfire mental health response team, as background, the Prime Minister and Health Minister announced a $76 million package on 12 January to provide distress counselling and mental health support for individuals, families and communities affected by bushfires.

The team is involved in communicating the progress of the package to various audiences and problem solving on implementation issues. Drought and floods has been added to the initial bushfire portfolio.
Main duties/ essentials:
Policy & project management
Writing briefings and correspondence
Contract management and other tasks as required
Experienced APS employee who is motivated and proactive
Good analytical thinking skills
Takes ownership for getting work done (someone who can hit the ground running)
Can work autonomously and as part of a team (a flexible person who can work across different areas and pick up a new body of work as required)
There could be more opportunities to work across other areas of the branch.
Understanding of the Health sector is desirable but not essential.
