Operations Delivery Coordinator - National Security

Location: Barton, ACT
Contract: 04 January 2027 to 03 July 2027, with up to 2 x 6-month extensions
Pay: $130 - $160 p/h including super (negotiable)
Work type: Full-time, 37.5 hours per week
Work arrangement: Primarily onsite. Working from home options are very limited, with specific arrangements agreed with your supervisor on a case-by-case basis.
Clearance: Must hold a current NV2 clearance or above

About the Role
Join our Federal Government client in a branch-wide coordination role supporting senior leadership in a sensitive national security environment. You will turn agreed priorities into coordinated work plans, track actions and dependencies, keep reporting reliable, and bring delivery issues to executive attention. This is not an executive-assistant role. The focus is cross-team delivery, governance, reporting and business improvement.

What You'll Be Doing

• Monitor branch operations and identify workflow pressures or emerging issues
• Coordinate work plans, timelines, responsibilities and dependencies
• Keep regular planning cycles, business processes and standard operating procedures on track
• Coordinate work across operational, finance, governance and business teams
• Prepare briefing material and decision records for senior executive meetings
• Maintain action registers and follow up teams on overdue commitments
• Escalate delivery barriers when executive attention is needed
• Maintain branch-level trackers and dashboards for priorities, risks and issues
• Consolidate inputs into concise briefs, executive updates and performance reports
• Identify bottlenecks, duplication and process risks, then coordinate improvements
• Analyse operational issues and prepare clear options and decision points

What You Bring (Essential Criteria)

• You've coordinated business operations, projects or senior executive delivery across multiple teams
• You can turn priorities into work plans, timelines, owners and clear follow-up actions
• You've used action registers, dashboards, reporting products and standard operating procedures to coordinate delivery
• You can prepare concise briefs, meeting material, executive updates and reports
• You can distinguish routine delays from material delivery issues and escalate at the right time
• You can influence teams and secure inputs without relying on line management authority
• You're confident with Microsoft 365, Teams, SharePoint or equivalent platforms
• You've worked in government or another highly regulated environment
• You're an Australian citizen
• You must hold a current NV2 clearance or above

Nice to Have (Desirable Criteria)

• Experience coordinating delivery priorities for an SES officer or equivalent senior leader
• Operational delivery, corporate coordination, governance or business management experience
• Experience developing SOPs, branch-level reporting or executive governance material
• Experience in a sensitive Commonwealth, national security, Defence or security operations environment
