EL1 Manager, Workplace Relations - Corporate Services

Location: Canberra, ACT
Contract: Non-ongoing, 12 months, with possibility of extension
Pay: EL1 - $137,301 to $157,498 + 15.4% super
Work type: Full-time
Work arrangement: Hybrid, with specific arrangements agreed with your supervisor on a case-by-case basis
Clearance: Must hold a current Baseline clearance or above

About the Role
Lead workplace relations for a small Federal regulatory agency. You will shape enterprise bargaining, employment frameworks, workplace policy and complex employee relations outcomes.

You will be a trusted adviser to senior leaders on performance, conduct, organisational change and industrial risk. You will also build productive relationships with employees, unions and representative groups.

Current APS employees interested in a section 26 transfer may also be considered.

What You'll Be Doing

• Lead enterprise bargaining and workplace relations activities
• Develop, implement and review enterprise agreements
• Advise leaders on employment conditions and organisational change
• Manage complex performance, conduct and employee relations matters
• Consult and negotiate with unions and employee representatives
• Strengthen workplace relations governance and legislative compliance
• Develop workplace policies, procedures and practical guidance
• Lead reform and continuous improvement initiatives

What You Bring (Essential Criteria)

• You've led workplace relations or industrial relations work at a senior level
• You've supported enterprise bargaining or agreement implementation
• You can advise on complex performance, conduct and employee relations matters
• You understand employment legislation, enterprise agreements and APS policy
• You can manage legal, industrial and organisational risk
• You negotiate confidently with leaders, employees and representative groups
• You've developed workplace policies, frameworks or employment initiatives
• You can satisfy an Australian Federal Police Criminal Record Check
• You're an Australian citizen
• You must hold a current Baseline clearance or above

Nice to Have (Desirable Criteria)

• Commonwealth or public sector workplace relations experience
• Experience engaging directly with unions
• Experience leading workplace reform or organisational change
• Experience working in a small regulatory or operational agency
