EL1 Senior Project Manager - Immigration and Multicultural Digital Services

Location: Canberra, ACT
Contract: Labour-hire contract to 30 June 2027, possible extension options available for the right candidate
Pay: $140 - $160 p/h including super (negotiable)
Work type: Full-time
Work arrangement: Hybrid, with specific arrangements agreed with your supervisor on a case-by-case basis
Clearance: Must hold a current Baseline clearance or above

About the Role
This is a senior project management role with our Federal Government client, supporting digital language services that help communities access trusted government information.

You will manage complex, high-value projects across planning, scheduling, documentation, stakeholder engagement, change control, risk and reporting. The work includes digital service delivery, web content translation capability, community engagement, technical issue assessment and quality assurance.

This role suits an experienced EL1-level Project Manager who can lead multiple workstreams, write strong project documentation and keep senior stakeholders informed without needing close supervision.

What You'll Be Doing

• Manage high-risk or complex projects of strategic importance
• Lead multiple projects and connected workstreams at the same time
• Develop project schedules, implementation plans and project management plans
• Prepare benefits plans, stage plans, statements of requirements and transition plans
• Build strong relationships with business, technical and community stakeholders
• Manage project risks, issues, change control, resources and budgets
• Prepare clear progress reports for managers and senior stakeholders
• Facilitate requirements meetings, presentations and workshops
• Mentor staff and transfer knowledge to internal teams
• Maintain documentation in line with recordkeeping requirements

• You've managed complex projects, including scope, requirements, priorities and accepted deliverables
• You've led business and project teams through high-pressure, high-risk or high-value delivery
• You can build strong stakeholder relationships across internal and external groups
• You've worked with organisational business processes to achieve project goals
• You're highly organised and can manage several priorities, tasks and deadlines at once
• You write clear project documents, reports, plans and schedules
• You're an Australian citizen
• You must hold a current Baseline clearance or above

Nice to Have (Desirable Criteria)

• 3+ years' practical project management experience in a medium to large environment
• Experience managing a business-led web content translation service
• Ability to assess and help resolve technical issues
• Experience reporting project progress in executive or governance forums
• Experience in immigration, multicultural affairs, digital service delivery or community-facing government work
