APS6 Senior Project Officers - Multiple Positions
- Location: Brisbane, Hobart, Wollongong, Adelaide, Melbourne or Canberra / Greenway
- Contract: ASAP to 30 June 2027
- Rate: $80 – $100 per hour inc super, negotiable
- Work type: Full-time contract
- Work arrangement: Onsite for onboarding and initial delivery; hybrid considered under agency flexibility guidelines
- Clearance: Baseline or above
About the Role You’ll support delivery of a major Federal Government reform program transforming Australia’s child support system. This work sits across seven interdependent projects covering assessment, collection, compliance, employer engagement and safety settings.
The goal is clear: improve payment compliance, reduce financial abuse and strengthen protections for vulnerable families.
You’ll work closely with Senior Project Managers, project teams and key stakeholders to keep delivery on track, risks visible and reporting sharp.
This is a strong contract for a project professional who wants meaningful reform work, national impact and a clear delivery environment.
What You’ll Be Doing - Support delivery of Child Support Reform Program projects across policy, legislative and operational streams
- Monitor project schedules, budgets, risks, issues and dependencies
- Prepare clear progress reports, briefs, updates and governance materials
- Coordinate project inputs across internal teams and external stakeholders
- Manage straightforward project activities under limited direction
- Build productive relationships with stakeholders across the agency
- Provide practical project advice to support consistent delivery of outputs
- Guide project staff by setting priorities and supporting performance where required
What You Bring - Must have - You’ve delivered project support or project officer work in a government or complex program environment
- You understand project and program management frameworks and can apply them in practice
- You can manage competing priorities, organise work and keep delivery moving
- You’re confident preparing reports, tracking schedules and supporting governance processes
- You can work with internal and external stakeholders and adapt your communication style
- You bring sound judgement, resilience and the ability to work under limited direction
- You hold Baseline clearance or above
Desirable - Knowledge of service delivery models, government business systems or child support-related programs
