AO4 Finance Officers

The role will provide accurate financial administration and advice across regional infrastructure projects, working within established priorities, work practices, legislation and policy frameworks.
 
You will work alongside Project Managers and a team of Finance Officers managing approximately 500 projects across the region.  
 
Key Duties

• Performing tasks in accordance with established priorities, methodologies and work practices.
• Providing detailed financial advice relating to civil infrastructure projects.
• Interpreting and analysing information to provide timely, clear and succinct advice.
• Setting priorities and monitoring workflow to ensure deadlines are met.
• Applying financial administration knowledge in line with relevant policies and procedures.
• Checking, preparing and submitting financial approval documentation.
• Processing Building Industry Fairness claims, general journals and timesheet journals.
• Undertaking contract reconciliations and reviewing cost sheet line-item requests.
• Liaising with Project Managers on financial requirements and outstanding items.
• Maintaining tracking registers in Excel and SharePoint Online.
• Completing governance checks on requests before actioning.
• Training and advising team members and Project Managers when required.
• Participating in team meetings and reporting through to the Senior Advisor, Finance.

 About You

• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in financial administration tasks.
• Proven ability to prioritise workload, manage time and meet deadlines.
• Sound judgement, critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to interpret and apply policy, procedures, legislation and frameworks.
• Clear communication skills and confidence liaising with project stakeholders.
• Flexible, adaptable and accountable approach to work.
• Ability to work independently while contributing positively to a team environment.
• Willingness to complete a criminal history check and provide a Worker Consent form with the application.

 Desirable

• Experience supporting project finance, contract administration or infrastructure delivery programs.
• Experience using Excel and SharePoint Online to maintain financial tracking registers.
• Exposure to government, civil infrastructure or high-volume project environments.
