Role This role offers an exciting opportunity to shape critical protective security policies that support the safety and resilience of Australia’s diplomatic network. You will play a central part in developing clear, practical, and high-impact policies that guide how security is managed across a diverse and global operating environment.
Your duties will include:
Developing clear, accessible protective security policies tailored to a diverse departmental client base. • Interpreting policy contexts, purposes and scopes to ensure accuracy and alignment with requirements. • Collaborating with SMEs through consultations and workshops to refine policy content. • Ensuring all policies meet relevant regulatory and legislative obligations. • Identifying policy interdependencies and delivering against policy development milestones. • Producing supporting materials such as procedures and guidance to enable effective implementation.
Skills and Experience we are looking for:
Demonstrated experience in corporate policy development for varied stakeholder groups. • Strong ability to interpret policy frameworks and translate them into clear, plain-English outputs. • Proven experience collaborating with SMEs and running stakeholder consultations or workshops. • Ability to develop policy aligned with regulatory or legislative requirements. • Capability to identify interdependencies and deliver policy products within agreed timeframes. • Knowledge of the Australian Government Protective Security Policy Framework (or the ability to rapidly acquire it).
