About the Opportunity

Work with a new Australian Government agency dedicated to protecting Australians from public health threats and improving national wellbeing. You’ll contribute to a high-profile national program that monitors and reports on critical health issues, helping ensure Australia remains prepared and resilient.
This role is ideal for an experienced candidate with a procurement skillset who enjoys managing complex contracts, supporting program delivery, and working across multiple disciplines in a collaborative and purpose-driven environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end procurement activities, from planning and approval through to contract execution.
• Draft and manage contract schedules, variations, and extensions while ensuring compliance with the Commonwealth Procurement Rules (CPRs) and PGPA Act.
• Monitor contract performance, process payments, track deliverables, and ensure high-quality reporting.
• Provide expert advice to stakeholders on procurement strategy, compliance, and best practice.
• Prepare documentation, briefs, and correspondence to support program management and budget deliberations.
• Collaborate with internal and external partners on policy, data-sharing, and program improvement initiatives.
• Drive workflow efficiencies and contribute to strategic program outcomes.

You’ll bring strong technical and interpersonal skills, with the ability to balance compliance and innovation. You are a proactive communicator who enjoys solving problems and supporting others through complex procurement and contract management processes.

To succeed, you will have:

• Demonstrated experience in managing complex government procurement and contract management processes.
• Knowledge of government panels, contracting platforms, and procurement frameworks.
• Strong analytical, reporting, and communication skills.
• The ability to work independently while contributing to a supportive team environment.
• A sound understanding of financial delegations and systems such as SAP, Concur, or Altus (desirable).
• A collaborative and adaptable mindset with high attention to detail and integrity.
• Baseline security clearance (or ability to obtain).
• An interest in contributing to Australia’s public health and safety.
