An opportunity is available for an experienced Assistant Accountant to join a well-regarded professional services firm based in Melbourne’s CBD. Supporting a small, close-knit team, this temporary assignment will suit someone who enjoys working in a collaborative environment and can confidently step in and contribute from day one.
This role is initially offered on a 4–8-week basis, with potential to extend depending on business needs.

The Role
Reporting to the Finance Manager, you will provide hands-on support across key accounting functions during a busy period.

Responsibilities will include:

• Preparing client activity statements
• General ledger and balance sheet reconciliations
• Bank reconciliations and cash flow support
• Supporting preparation of management reports
• Processing accounts payable and receivable as needed
• Preparing the P&L, Balance sheet and Cash flow report
• Maintaining accurate financial records and ensuring data integrity

About You

• Previous experience in an Assistant Accountant or similar finance role
• Confidence working autonomously within a small team
• Strong reconciliation and journal preparation capability
• Solid Excel skills and experience using MYOB
• High attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines
