3. JOB DESCRIPTION:
3.1 Job Purpose The Sustainability Executive will support the Sustainability Manager in ensuring the delivery of the company’s sustainability management plan in line with business, legal and regulatory requirements and in compliance with the Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD).
3.2 Main Duties and Responsibilities Sustainability Management: - Support the implementation of the company’s sustainability management plan, ensuring it is effectively communicated, implemented and continuously improved to deliver on the core sustainability and energy management objectives.
- Support the implementation of all relevant legal, regulatory and business/quality standards and ensure compliance is measured, assessed and continuously improved.
- Coordinate the collection of sustainability metrics, ensuring accuracy, consistency and auditability of the data.
- Perform gap analysis to benchmark the company’s sustainability performance against industry best practice.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure the integration of sustainability considerations across the company.
- Assist with collaboration with external stakeholders to ensure excellent working relationships are established and maintained with key partners, 3rd party consultants and contractors whilst managing related contracts to ensure safe, efficient, cost-effective professional services are provided to meet the needs and expectations.
- Assist the Sustainability Manager to ensure accreditation successes already achieved are retained and further developed.
- Assist with the ongoing review of the sustainability risk register and associated risk assessment processes.
- Support the delivery of an effective Sustainability Communications Strategy.
- Support the development and delivery of sustainability and energy management training programmes which meet the needs of the business.
- Support the management of the Sustainability CAPEX and annual OPEX budget and ensure value for money is achieved for the engagement of any works or services.
- Assist the Sustainability Manager to ensure delivery of the sustainability and energy project programme on time and budget whilst demonstrating the effectiveness of the project deliverables.
- Represent the company at internal and external sustainability related meetings or as directed by the Sustainability Manager.
- Support the compilation for project business cases from the ATMPG and SPSCC.
- The Sustainability Executive will maintain close liaison and project coordination with Technical Services, Property and Facilities, 3rd party consultants, project management teams and project supervision service providers.
- Attend technical, general, soft skills, Health & Safety and Security related training courses as required.
- Any other duties appropriate to the role that may be required.
3.3 Reports To: Sustainability Manager
3.4 Direct Reports: N/A
3.5 Relationships Internal: In addition to direct reporting relationship at 3.3 above the post holder is required to have close liaison with all personnel and Directorates in the Company. There are close interdependency requirements between the Property & Facilities and Sustainability Team.
External: The postholder is required to liaise with all appropriate external bodies, providers, suppliers and companies.
4. PERSON SPECIFICATON
4.1 Qualifications, Knowledge, Experience & Skills
Essential: - A third level qualification in Environmental Science, Sustainability, Business or related field
- 3 years p Previous experience in sustainability or a related field
- Excellent analytical skills
- Excellent communication, organisational, interpersonal, multi-tasking, timekeeping, report writing and ICT (SharePoint & MS Office suite) skills
- Must have a high level of integrity, be efficient, reliable, trustworthy, discrete and flexible
- Ability to work independently or collaboratively in a fast-paced environment establish effective working relationships at all levels both internally and externally, multi-task and meet deadlines whilst working calmly under pressure
Desirable: - Other Sustainability, 3rd level qualifications
- Experience in an ESG environment
- Experience with green public procurement
- Experience in compliance, accreditation and/or audit
