Energy Business Analyst

Infrastructure People have partnered with an organisation that is dedicated to scaling and sustaining the rapid growth of the region's digital future by delivering state-of-the-art hyperscale data centres. These data centres cater to the needs of transformational global companies and are designed with sustainability in mind, both for the present and the future.
  
They have an immediate requirement for an Energy Business Analyst to join their join their team on a 6-month fixed-term contract basis, with the possibility of extension, located in North Sydney. This is an exciting opportunity where you will play a key role in managing energy costs, supporting sustainability initiatives, and driving operational improvements across the organisation.

About the Role:

As the Energy Business Analyst, you will collaborate closely with the Energy team, ensuring energy operations run smoothly and supporting data-driven decisions. Your insights will directly influence energy purchasing strategies and sustainability goals.
  
In this role, you will:

• Provide internal energy advice and support to the Operations team, ensuring effective data testing.
• Maximise energy cost recovery through supplier invoice review, customer invoicing, and SLA monitoring.
• Track energy billing recovery, manage energy data logging internally, and ensure alignment with SLAs.
• Calculate Carbon Usage Efficiency and report on progress towards the company’s net-zero goals.
• Build and maintain advanced dashboards, reports, and tools using Excel and Power BI for energy, emissions, and sustainability metrics.
• Develop a deep understanding of energy cost structures and key drivers across markets to inform strategy and decision-making.

About You:

• A degree in Business, Economics, Engineering, or a related field.
• Proven experience as a Business Analyst or in a similar analytical role, ideally in energy consulting, engineering or adjacent area
• Strong expertise in data analysis, financial modelling, and reporting, with proficiency in Excel and Power BI.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present complex information in a clear and concise manner to various stakeholders.
• Previous experience in energy modelling, optimising performance, and reporting on sustainability metrics.
• A proactive approach to problem-solving, with a focus on continuous improvement and operational efficiency.
• A collaborative mindset with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
