About the Role:
  
They have a permanent opportunity for a Senior Cost Manager based in the Melbourne CBD office. Reporting to the Head of Cost, Estimating & Reporting, you will be responsible for managing the full spectrum of cost control activities across major government-led infrastructure projects. Specifically, your focus will be on the preparation, monitoring, and management of the National Intermodal Project cost plan. This role will ensure the project costs are accurately controlled, forecasted, and that budgets are adhered to in alignment with the Annual Corporate Plan set by shareholders.
  
You will:

• Leading interdisciplinary teams and managing large-scale infrastructure projects.
• Acting as the main client liaison on-site, overseeing all construction and logistical activities.
• Creating and implementing project plans, including schedules, budgets, and ensuring adherence to safety and environmental regulations.
• Performing risk assessments and implementing mitigation measures to ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental guidelines.
• Collaborating with contractors, government agencies, and local communities to promote teamwork and address stakeholder concerns.
• Managing contract performance, scope changes, and negotiating commercial terms.
• Providing updates on project progress, budget status, and ensuring the successful completion of close-out procedures.
• Cultivating a positive team environment and offering mentorship to junior team members to aid their professional growth.

 About You:

• Tertiary qualifications in Project Management, Engineering, or a related field.
• Proven experience delivering major civil infrastructure projects in the rail or transport sectors.
• Expertise in site management, contract administration, and overseeing tier one contractors as a client-side Project Manager.
• Strong leadership abilities, with a proven track record of motivating and managing project teams effectively.
• Ability to effectively manage project performance, risks, and financial aspects.
• Demonstrated experience in environmental and heritage compliance, conflict resolution, and stakeholder engagement.
• Outstanding communication and collaboration abilities, particularly in complex project environments.
• Excellent interface management and influencing skills.
• A commitment to sustainability and cultural respect in all project management practices.
