The Opportunity
An established and highly regarded London architecture and design practice is looking to appoint a talented Senior Interior Designer / Senior Interior Architect to join its Interiors team.
This is an opportunity to play a key role in the design and delivery of commercial workplace interior projects, working within a collaborative, multidisciplinary studio environment.
The successful candidate will combine strong creative and conceptual design ability with solid technical delivery experience and will be comfortable working across multiple RIBA stages.
The Role
You will take responsibility for key aspects of project design and delivery, working closely with clients, consultants and internal architectural teams.
The position requires someone who can confidently develop ideas from initial brief and concept through design development and into detailed technical delivery.
Design & Project Delivery

• Lead the development of interior design concepts from initial briefing through to detailed design.
• Work across RIBA Stages 1-5, with particular strength through the later technical stages.
• Produce and review drawings, specifications and schedules covering interior architecture and FF&E.
• Ensure design proposals respond effectively to the client brief while remaining achievable within budget and programme.
• Maintain a strong level of design quality and attention to detail throughout the project lifecycle.

Client & Stakeholder Management

• Participate confidently in client meetings, workshops and presentations.
• Present and communicate design ideas clearly through drawings, visuals, presentations and written material.
• Build effective relationships with clients and project stakeholders.
• Support senior members of the team in maintaining strong ongoing client relationships.

Technical Coordination

• Coordinate interior design packages with architectural teams and external consultants.
• Ensure designs comply with relevant UK Building Regulations, accessibility requirements and workplace standards.
• Coordinate with M&E, lighting, acoustic and other specialist consultants.
• Liaise with contractors and other delivery partners.
• Support the preparation of tender documentation and construction-stage information.

Team Collaboration

• Work collaboratively within the Interiors team and alongside the wider architectural practice.
• Provide guidance and support to junior designers and assistants.
• Contribute to design reviews and wider studio knowledge sharing.
• Help maintain high standards of design, technical delivery and presentation across projects.

Experience & Skills
The successful candidate is likely to have:

• Approximately 6-10+ years' professional experience within interior design or interior architecture.
• Proven experience delivering commercial workplace interior projects in the UK.
• Experience working across multiple RIBA stages, particularly Stages 3-5.
• A strong portfolio demonstrating both creative/conceptual design and technical resolution.
• Strong Revit skills - essential.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and Adobe Creative Suite.
• Experience producing clear graphics and design presentations.
• Good knowledge of UK Building Regulations and workplace design standards.
• Strong communication and presentation skills.
• The ability to manage workloads and deliver against project deadlines.
• A collaborative approach to working within multidisciplinary teams.

Desirable Experience

• Experience using Revit within a BIM environment.
• FF&E specification and procurement experience.
• Previous experience within a multidisciplinary architecture and design practice.
• Experience mentoring or supervising junior members of a design team.

Qualifications
A degree or equivalent qualification in:

• Interior Design
• Interior Architecture
• Architecture
• Or another relevant design discipline

Relevant professional accreditation would be advantageous but is not essential.
The Person
This role would suit a well-rounded Senior Designer or Senior Interior Architect who is equally comfortable discussing the creative direction of a project and getting involved in its technical delivery.
You should be creative, technically capable, client-facing and confident working within a collaborative architectural environment.
