Freelance Junior to Mid-Weight Interior Designer – Maternity Cover (Workplace Project)
Location: Netherlands or Remote (within a reasonable time difference)
€200–€250 per day, depending on experience
Contract: Minimum 3 months (June–August), with likely extension
Commitment: 4–5 days per week preferred
 
We’re seeking a talented freelance Junior to Mid-weight Interior Designer to support our client during a key team member’s maternity leave. You'll be stepping into a long-term workplace design project at a critical stage, so confidence in design delivery, finishes, and visualisation tools is essential.
 
This role is ideally suited to candidates based in the Netherlands, but our client is also open to strong applicants based elsewhere—provided time zones align well for collaboration.
 
Key Responsibilities:

• Work as part of the project team on an existing workplace interiors scheme, focusing on design development and delivery.
• Create and update SketchUp models with Enscape visualisations.
• Prepare finishes boards, moodboards, and materials palettes aligned with the project direction.
• Assist with FF&E specifications and sourcing.
• Produce technical drawings using AutoCAD; Revit experience is a strong plus.
• Contribute to client and internal presentations through clear visual and verbal communication.
• Liaise with team members, suppliers, and consultants to ensure design quality and alignment with project goals.

 
Skills & Experience:

• 2–4+ years of relevant experience in interior design or architecture, ideally within workplace projects.
• Strong skills in SketchUp and Enscape for design and visualisation.
• Demonstrated ability to prepare and present moodboards and finishes.
• Proficient in AutoCAD; Revit proficiency is desirable.
• Confident in Adobe Creative Suite (especially InDesign and Photoshop).
• Strong communicator, comfortable collaborating with remote teams and managing time effectively.
• Based in the Netherlands or available to work within compatible European time zones.
