Furniture Manager Location: Reading (with travel to Birmingham and London offices) Salary: £60,000 - £75,000 Contract Type: Full-time, Permanent
Company Overview: Our client is a creative design company known for delivering innovative projects by listening closely to their clients’ aspirations.
They are currently looking for an experienced Furniture Manager to join their team. Initially, this role will cover maternity leave, but it will expand to help lead the integration of our furniture offering across the group. They are looking for someone with strong ties to the London furniture market and expertise in managing commercial furniture projects from concept to completion. You'll play a key role in growing the business by fostering client relationships, driving sales, and ensuring high standards in project execution.
Key Responsibilities:
Client Relationships: Engage with clients, providing expert advice on furniture solutions, and supporting their needs throughout the project lifecycle.
Supplier Management: Cultivate partnerships with furniture suppliers, securing favorable pricing and terms for the business.
Pitching & Tendering: Prepare and present content for pitches and tenders, working to win new business through compelling proposals.
Costing & Value Engineering: Develop pricing packages for both tender and negotiated projects, and assist with value engineering efforts when necessary.
Sales Growth: Proactively identify new opportunities for direct furniture sales, and collaborate with the Business Development team to drive growth.
Industry Insights: Stay ahead of industry trends and continuously research new suppliers to ensure the business remains competitive and innovative.
Process Improvement: Work closely with the furniture team to streamline processes and improve operational efficiency.
Client Tours: Organize and host furniture showroom tours in Clerkenwell to showcase offerings to clients.
Specification Development: Collaborate with the design team to create and refine furniture specifications that align with client budgets and project goals.
Sustainable Sourcing: Ensure that furniture procurement is aligned with ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) principles, focusing on responsible and ethical sourcing.
Group Strategy: Play a pivotal role in shaping and integrating the furniture division’s offerings with the wider group’s services.
What We’re Looking For: You’ll be someone who thrives in a fast-moving, dynamic environment and has the experience to back it up. Ideally, you’ll have a solid background in the London commercial furniture sector, with strong supplier networks and experience leading turnkey projects. You’ll also need to be proactive, collaborative, and skilled at balancing the demands of multiple stakeholders to deliver high-quality outcomes.
You will need to have some sales experience and would be beneficial if you can from a design background who can read and draw using CAD programs.
