Talent Source HR & Recruitment Solutions, in conjunction with Serp Recruitment, is looking for a fit, motivated Pit/Field Technician for an immediate start.
 
You will be the right hand to the Geology team, performing vital field tasks that ensure the accuracy of our gold grade control and production. This is an active, outdoors, and physically demanding role.
 
The Roster & Benefits

• Roster: 8 days on, 6 days off (Day Shift).
• Location: Georgetown region, QLD.
• Travel: DIDO Only (Drive-In, Drive-Out). Must have a reliable vehicle.
• Stability: Initial contract with a strong possibility of permanent work.
• Start: Immediate.

Key Responsibilities
 
Working alongside the Geologists, your day-to-day will involve:

• Grade Control Support: Assisting with the collection of RC (Reverse Circulation) and blast hole samples.
• Ore Marking: Physically marking out "dig lines" and ore/waste boundaries in the pit using pickets, tape, and spray paint.
• Sample Management: Bagging, tagging, and organizing samples for dispatch to the lab, ensuring 100% data accuracy and no cross-contamination.
• Pit Maintenance: Conducting regular pit inspections with the Geologist and assisting with wall mapping and stockpile sampling.
• Drilling Support: Assisting with drill site preparation and clearing, and supporting rig supervisors where needed.
• Labour Tasks: General field duties including heavy lifting (up to 20kg sample bags), equipment cleaning, and site housekeeping.

What You Bring

• Physical Capability: High level of fitness and the ability to work long hours on your feet in hot, dusty, and uneven outdoor terrain.
• Attention to Detail: You must be methodical; a mismatched sample tag can lead to significant production errors.
• Safety Mindset: A proactive approach to site safety and a "can-do" attitude toward manual tasks.
• Licensing: A valid Manual Driver's Licence 
• Experience: Previous experience in drilling, construction, or farming is highly regarded, but we are primarily looking for someone reliable and hardworking.
