About The Opportunity: 

UON are seeking a dedicated and professional Assistant Accountant responsible for data entry, reconciliation and general accounts support for the   
Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, and Procurement Functions.


About You: 

This position will suit a seasoned Assistant Accountant who has excellent communication and collaboration skills and thrives in a busy environment.

• Attention to detail.   
• Highly developed written and verbal communication skills, and ability to communicate effectively with all departmental areas.   
• Ability to maintain accuracy while meeting deadlines.   
• Strong problem solving and analytical skills.

Requirements: 

• Minimum of 4 years of accounting / industry experience (desired).
• CA/CPA qualified or working towards - study assistant can be provided.
• Support accounts payable/receivable oversight and ensure accurate transaction coding.
• Perform bank, credit card, and balance sheet reconciliations, investigating and resolving variances.
• Conduct stock reconciliations and assist with inventory variance analysis.
• Maintain the Fixed Asset Register (FAR), including asset additions, disposals, and depreciation.
• Support month-end and year-end close, including journals, accruals, and general ledger maintenance.
• Assist with management reporting, including preparation of financial reports and variance analysis.
• Ensure compliance with internal controls, accounting standards, and audit requirements.
• Contribute to process improvements and system enhancements.
