Registered Practical Nurse (RPN), Outpatient Addictions Clinic | Monday to Friday Days
This role may also be known as:
- RPN, Addictions Treatment
- Clinic Nurse (RPN)
- Outpatient Practical Nurse
- Opioid Agonist Treatment (OAT) Clinic Nurse
Full-time RPN role in a small Sault Ste. Marie addictions clinic. Injections and bloodwork, Monday to Friday, no nights or weekends.
- Monday to Friday, 8:00 to 4:00, with no nights, no weekends and no rotating schedule.
- An on-site pharmacy handles routine meds, so your time goes to focused, hands-on nursing.
- Benefits at three months, RRSP matching, ten wellness days and paid professional development.
What if your nursing day ended at 4:00, every weekday, and every hour in between was spent on the care you actually trained for?
This clinic supports people in active addictions treatment in Sault Ste. Marie, and the work matters. Patients come in at some of the most important points in their recovery, and you are part of what keeps them on track. Because there is a pharmacy right on site, you are not chained to a med cart. Your clinical focus is Sublocade and testosterone injections, bloodwork and physician-directed orders.
You will work on a small team of two full-time nurses and a Patient Care Coordinator, reporting directly to the Territory Manager. It is the kind of setting where people know your name, your input is heard, and you can build real continuity with your patients.
Why This Opportunity Is Different - A schedule you can plan a life around. The clinic runs Monday to Friday, 8:00 am to 4:00 pm, closed for lunch from 12:00 to 12:30.
- Focused clinical scope. With an on-site pharmacy managing routine medication administration and a Patient Care Coordinator handling urine sample collection, analysis and EMR upload, your time stays on hands-on nursing.
- A small team with real leadership access. You report directly to the Territory Manager, not through layers of management.
- A proper start. A structured three-week onboarding program, including a full week of shadowing, sets you up for success.
- Rewards that grow with you. RRSP matching rises with service, vacation grows to five weeks, and your College of Nurses fees can be covered through professional development reimbursement.
What You'll Be Doing - Delivering Sublocade and testosterone injections safely and accurately, following physician orders.
- Completing bloodwork and other physician-ordered procedures that guide patients' treatment plans.
- Working alongside the on-site pharmacy so medication care runs smoothly for every patient.
- Partnering with the Patient Care Coordinator to keep clinical records accurate and up to date in the EMR.
- Keeping the clinic running for patients Monday to Friday, including clinic days that fall on statutory holidays, which are sometimes run on modified hours.
- Building your confidence in the clinic's model through a three-week onboarding program with one week of shadowing.
What We're Looking For - Graduate of an accredited Practical Nursing program.
- Active, unencumbered registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario.
- Confidence performing injections and bloodwork.
- Comfort working within an EMR system alongside a coordinator.
- Comfort working in an outpatient addictions treatment setting with a respectful, non-judgemental approach.
- A collaborative team player who thrives in a small clinical team.
- Flexibility to cover occasional statutory holiday clinic days and modified hours.
- Willingness to consent to a criminal record check as part of onboarding.
- Addictions or outpatient experience is an asset, but not required.
Compensation & Work Model - $29.87 per hour (Year 1, 2026), moving to $30.47 per hour (Year 1, 2027).
- Comprehensive benefits after three months of employment.
- Vacation: two weeks to start, three weeks (6%) after five years, four weeks (8%) after ten years and five weeks (10%) after twenty years of continuous service.
- RRSP matching: 1% after one year, 1.5% after three years and 2% after five years of service.
- Professional development reimbursement of up to $500 per year for full-time staff, including College of Nurses membership fees, after successful completion of probation.
- Ten wellness days per year (five paid, five unpaid).
- Work model: Onsite, full-time, Monday to Friday.
Location & Travel On-site at the clinic in Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario. Candidates must live in or within commuting distance of Sault Ste. Marie.
