Facilities Technician, Electro-Mechanical Maintenance (Temporary, Immediate Start)
This role may also be known as:
Maintenance Technician
Building Maintenance Technician
Industrial Maintenance Technician
Plant Maintenance Technician
What if your next six weeks gave you more hands-on variety than most maintenance techs see in a year?
This is not a role where you change light bulbs and wait for the phone to ring. One hour you could be swapping HVAC filters or fixing a door. The next you could be tracing a fault on a conveyor, a canning line or a PLC panel. You will keep a busy beverage manufacturing site running, inside the building and out on the production floor.
You will work right alongside the Asset Care and Facility Projects teams, supporting day-to-day maintenance and helping with facility upgrades. If you like solving problems with your hands and your head, you will be busy in the best way.
Why This Opportunity Is Different
Most short-term maintenance roles keep you on one narrow task. This one puts you across building systems, mechanical equipment, electrical components and automation, all on one site.
You work as part of an established team, with direct access to the Asset Care and Facility Projects groups.
You get exposure to real project work and facility upgrades, not just routine checks.
The schedule is predictable, Monday to Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., with overtime when the work calls for it.
You will have the autonomy to own repairs and inspections, with experienced people around you when you need them.
What You'll Be Doing
- Keeping the facility safe and running through routine maintenance and minor repairs on plumbing, lighting, doors, HVAC filters and small equipment
- Catching problems early by inspecting and monitoring building systems and equipment
- Getting equipment back up fast during planned and unplanned maintenance
- Supporting external contractors and stepping in on emergency maintenance
- Maintaining compressors, boilers, conveyors, beverage filling machines, can warmers, labelers, cappers, box tapers and skid wrappers
- Keeping records accurate by completing maintenance logs and reports in the company's software
- Keeping tools, spare parts and inventory organized so the team is never waiting on a part
- Supporting a safe, clean and continuously improving workplace by following health and safety protocols
What We're Looking For - Experience in facility, building or plant maintenance
- Basic knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical and life safety systems
- Mechanical troubleshooting on bearings, belts, chains, gearboxes, pumps, hydraulics and pneumatics, including preventive maintenance
- Electrical knowledge of motors, contactors, relays, VFDs, sensors and control circuits, and the ability to read electrical schematics
- PLC and HMI troubleshooting, I/O systems and industrial controls
- Comfort using tools, performing repairs and assisting tradespeople
- Basic computer skills for maintenance records and communication
- Ability to lift 50 lbs and perform physical tasks safely
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Manufacturing or cannabis industry experience is an asset
