Waste Management Staff | Weekend Event Crew in The Blue Mountains
Great events don't happen by accident. Behind every packed spectator area and smooth-running walkway is a crew keeping the grounds clean, safe, and looking their best, and this weekend, that could be you.
We're looking for two dependable people to join the event crew for a weekend event in The Blue Mountains, Ontario. It's active, outdoor work with a clear purpose: keep the grounds in top shape so participants, spectators, and staff can enjoy every minute.
If you like staying on your feet, work well without someone looking over your shoulder, and want short-term weekend work that fits around school, semi-retirement, or another job, this is a simple, rewarding way to spend two days.
Why This Opportunity Is Different
This is short-term work with no guesswork. You know exactly when you're working, exactly what you're earning, and exactly what's expected. The commitment is two shifts, Saturday and Sunday, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with a straightforward hiring process: a brief phone screen with TAPP, then onboarding and site briefing details sent before the event. You'll have the independence to manage your own area while still being part of a wider event crew, reporting to the Event Operations Lead and Site Supervisor. And because no previous experience is required, it's an easy way to add reliable event experience to your background.
What You'll Be Doing
- Keeping the event grounds clean and presentable from the start of each shift to the end
- Picking up litter and loose trash across participant areas, spectator zones, walkways, and common spaces
- Removing filled garbage bags from bins and taking them to the designated dumpster
- Replacing bags with fresh ones and returning bins to their assigned spots
- Watching bins across the site and servicing them before they overflow, especially during peak periods
- Keeping waste collection areas tidy and free of hazards or obstructions
- Promptly reporting spills, overflowing containers, damaged bins, or safety concerns to the on-site supervisor
- Pitching in with general site tidying and light clean-up as directed by the Event Operations team
What We're Looking For - Availability to work both full shifts on Saturday, October 17 and Sunday, October 18, 2026, from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM
- Reliability and punctuality, with a genuine commitment to both days
- Strong attention to detail and real pride in keeping a space clean
- Comfort working independently as well as part of a wider event crew
- The ability to follow verbal instructions and site-specific safety procedures
- A positive, professional manner around participants, spectators, and event staff
- The ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift for a full 8-hour shift, including carrying filled garbage bags to a dumpster
- Comfort working outdoors in variable weather conditions
- Closed-toe footwear and weather-appropriate clothing on site
- Previous cleaning, janitorial, event grounds, or general labour experience is an asset but not required
Compensation & Work Model $22.00 per hour for approximately 16 scheduled hours (8 hours per day across two days).
Temporary event contract. Onsite.
Location & Travel On-site at the event grounds in The Blue Mountains, Ontario, on Saturday, October 17 and Sunday, October 18, 2026.
