Metrology Specialist | CMM Programming, GD&T & Precision Inspection

Some metrology roles mean running someone else's program on repeat. This one puts you in charge of the measurement side. You'd write and maintain the CMM programs, inspection plans and procedures that decide whether complex die-cast components meet their dimensional, geometric and tolerance requirements.
You would be the person the Quality team relies on when a dimension is in question. Your analysis against engineering drawings, GD&T and customer specifications directly shapes defect reduction and process optimization in a high-volume production environment.
If you like precision work but also want to be close to the process, this role offers both. Your time is split between a climate-controlled quality lab and the active plant floor.

What You'll Be Doing

• Verify that die-cast components conform to dimensional, geometric and tolerance requirements using CMM, calipers, micrometers, height gauges and optical measurement systems
• Program and operate CMMs such as Zeiss, Mitutoyo and Hexagon to measure complex geometries and critical dimensions
• Create, maintain and execute measurement programs, inspection plans and standard procedures
• Analyze measurement data to confirm full compliance with engineering drawings, GD&T standards and customer specifications
• Partner with Quality, Engineering and Production to resolve dimensional anomalies and support root-cause investigations
• Support First Article Inspections, PPAP submissions and quality system audits
• Calibrate and maintain metrology tools so measurements stay traceable to national standards
• Keep accurate inspection records in line with ISO 9001 and IATF 16949 requirements
• Work with tooling and process engineers to improve die-casting processes and measurement efficiency

What We're Looking For

• High School Diploma or GED required
• 3+ years of quality inspection or metrology experience in a manufacturing environment
• Proven proficiency operating and programming CMM software platforms
• Strong expertise in GD&T
• Hands-on mastery of precision measuring instruments and blueprint interpretation
• Familiarity with ISO 9001 or IATF 16949 quality management frameworks
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and metrology or data management software
• Associate Degree or technical certification in Metrology, Engineering Technology or a related field is preferred
• Die-casting process and tooling experience, SPC and data analysis tools, and practical QMS knowledge are strong assets
• A detail-oriented, collaborative professional who can explain measurement findings clearly to engineering and production teams

Compensation & Work Model

• Compensation is competitive and will be discussed during the screening process.
• Full-time, on-site.

Location & Travel

• On-site in Sallisaw, Oklahoma
• Work is split between a climate-controlled quality laboratory and an active manufacturing plant floor
• Requires standing for extended periods and working around noise, heat and active machinery
• Must be able to occasionally lift up to 25 lbs
