Lead the day-to-day build on major industrial projects across the Greater Toronto Area for a contractor that backs its site leaders completely.
Site Superintendent - Industrial Construction (GTA)
This role may also be known as: Construction Superintendent, Field Superintendent, ICI Site Superintendent, Construction Site Manager
You're the person subcontractors call when something needs to move, the person the client trusts when a decision has to be made on the spot, and the person your crew looks to when the schedule gets tight. This role puts you in the middle of that action every single day, running the site from mobilization through to final walkthrough.
You'll be joining a general contractor, design-builder and construction manager built by three hands-on principals who still walk their own job sites. The culture here rewards people who take ownership, and site leaders are given real authority to run their projects rather than just execute someone else's plan. As the business continues to grow, so does the runway for superintendents who prove they can deliver.
Why This Opportunity Is Different
Direct line to a General Superintendent who mentors rather than micromanages. Real input into how projects get planned and staffed, not just how they get executed. A steady pipeline of ICI industrial work means job security without the boom-and-bust feel of smaller shops. Strong performers move into larger, more complex projects quickly rather than waiting years for a title change.
What You'll Be Doing
- Owning site health and safety, leading incident investigations and putting corrective measures in place
- Building the kind of subcontractor and stakeholder relationships that keep projects moving smoothly
- Driving quality and workmanship standards across every trade on site
- Leading site mobilization and set-up alongside the Project Manager and Project Coordinator
- Coordinating trades, subcontractors and suppliers day to day, and correcting course to protect schedule and budget
- Tracking job progress and cost, and reporting it clearly to management
- Resolving client concerns quickly and keeping their confidence in the project
- Feeding lessons learned back into the business to improve how future projects run
- Confirming design specifications are being met on site
- Staying current on construction technology, methods and standards
What We're Looking For
- A construction-related degree or diploma plus at least seven years of Industrial Construction experience in the ICI sector, or an equivalent combination of training and experience
- Working knowledge of scheduling, project management and contract software
- Solid grasp of construction equipment, techniques, drawings, specifications and building materials
- Comfort leading and directing site personnel, planning schedules, and determining manpower and material needs
- Current health and safety credentials such as Working at Heights, First Aid, and Basics of Supervision
Compensation & Work Model
Compensation is competitive and will be discussed during the screening process. This is a full-time, salaried position at 40 hours per week, working from job sites located within the Greater Toronto Area.
Location & Travel
Head office is based in Oakville, easily reached from the 403 and 407. Day-to-day work takes place at active job sites throughout the GTA.
