Junior Site Superintendent – ICI Construction | Oakville & GTA
This role may also be known as: Assistant Site Superintendent, Junior Construction Superintendent, Site Supervisor, ICI Site Coordinator
Are you a people person who thrives in the middle of the action? Do you get energy from new challenges and new projects? If you're a self-starter who works well in a high-energy team environment, this is worth ten minutes of your time.
This is a full-time Junior Site Superintendent role reporting directly to a General Superintendent, with a competitive salary and full benefits. It's built for someone who wants real ownership early — not just a seat at the table, but a hand in running it.
You'd be joining a rapidly growing general contractor, design-builder, and construction manager with a reputation for integrity and quality craftsmanship in commercial construction. The culture here is built on one idea: hire good people, trust them to do the work, and keep improving how it gets delivered.
Why This Opportunity Is Different
Most junior superintendent roles keep you on the sidelines. This one doesn't. You'll report directly to a General Superintendent who is genuinely invested in developing you, not just supervising you. You'll get real autonomy leading site mobilization and set-up, exposure to a variety of active ICI projects across the GTA rather than one static site, and a clear runway to grow into more senior site leadership as you prove yourself.
What You'll Be Doing
- Lead job site health and safety programs, investigating incidents and driving corrective action
- Build lasting relationships with trade partners, consultants, and stakeholders to keep every project moving smoothly
- Own the mobilization and set-up of new construction sites in partnership with the Project Manager and Project Coordinator
- Coordinate trades, subcontractors, and suppliers day to day, keeping schedules and budgets on track
- Track job progress and costs, delivering clear, regular reporting to leadership
- Resolve client concerns quickly and effectively
- Feed workmanship and subcontractor performance insights back to leadership to help sharpen how the company delivers
- Confirm design specifications are met on every build
- Stay current on construction technology, methods, and standards
What We're Looking For - A construction-related diploma or degree plus at least five years of interior construction experience in the Industrial, Commercial, and Institutional (ICI) sector, or an equivalent mix of training and experience
- Working knowledge of scheduling, project management, and contract software
- Solid grasp of construction equipment, techniques, drawings, specifications, and building materials
- A natural leader who enjoys directing site personnel, building schedules, and lining up manpower, materials, and trades
- Current health and safety credentials such as Working at Heights, First Aid, and Basics of Supervision
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills with trades, consultants, and clients alike
Compensation & Work Model Compensation is competitive and will be discussed during the screening process. This is a full-time, salaried position (40 hours per week) with full benefits.
Location & Travel Based out of Oakville, Ontario, with active job sites located throughout the Greater Toronto Area (GTA). Travel between the office and job sites should be expected.
