The Schedular / Planner position is intended for an individual with experience in scheduling / planning of maintenance activities.
Our client operates one of the world’s largest solar thermal plants, focused on sustainable energy generation through advanced technology and precision operations. As part of a dynamic maintenance team, this role supports high-impact, real-time troubleshooting to ensure plant reliability and performance.
The Schedular / Planner position is intended for an individual with experience in scheduling / planning of maintenance activities. This knowledge can be gained through prior experience or a combination of college/technical/military training and experience.
Essential Duties/Responsibilities:
- Promote safety by assuring that all safety rules and regulations are followed including the coordination and supervision of equipment isolation and tagging procedures.
- Communicate and lead in accordance with company vision and core values. Strong competencies in communication, teamwork, interpersonal effectiveness.
- Work with Maintenance Manager coordinating outage planning activities.
- Develop and draft written maintenance plans (PM's) for the plant.
- Conduct outage and or weekly maintenance scheduling while helping establish plant maintenance priorities in accordance with Plant Operations' needs.
- Provides detailed planning by developing scopes of work, identifying, and estimating manpower and material requirements, and identifying all associated activities required to accomplish the work.
- Determine and schedule necessary resources using PasTA, SAP e.g., supplies, materials, parts, and special tools or equipment required to perform maintenance inspections and/or work.
- Interpret technical manuals, sketches, prints, instructions, manufacturer's data, and equipment history records while incorporating the applicable information in developing maintenance plans.
- Track and update schedule daily, communicate updates to I&C Maintenance Supervisor, provide daily reports, and integrate Field Change Requests into schedule updates
- Coordinate and interface between Maintenance technicians, Warehouse Manager & Operations.
- Gains cooperation and action from people not under employee's direct reporting. Reviews and updates job plans/work packages as needed.
-Primary focus will be support of daily planning activities for the I&C and Electrical crafts, to include sourcing & ordering parts
-Knowledge of control valves, transmitters, level controls and low voltage electrical components desired
-Must be comfortable communicating with vendors/contractors to procure service & parts quotes
- Lead schedule review meetings with Operations, Outage Team, and Contractors. Ensure critical path activities are optimized and WBS defined while consulting with the key stakeholders.
- Identify and resolve schedule conflicts.
- Analyze and update SAP on actual versus estimated time, equipment, and manpower requirements.
Working Conditions:
- Normal office environment and power plant environment which requires working in all weather conditions around rotating and energized equipment, hazardous material, and chemicals.
- Requires operation of a motor vehicle; Valid State Driver's License.
- Able to perform occasional travel to corporate locations and other company plants
- Requires wearing personal protective safety equipment (respirators, safety glasses, hard hat, appropriate footwear, ear plugs, fall protection etc.)
- Requires working around rotating and energized equipment, hazardous materials, and chemicals.
- Requires operation of a personal computer.
Minimum Requirements:
- High School diploma or GED equivalent.
- Valid driver's license.
- 3 years' experience in maintenance planning and scheduling
- 2-3 years of experience working with SAP or another CMMS program
Preferred Qualifications:
- Knowledge of power plant systems and operations.
- Strong background in Instrumentation, Controls and/or Electrical maintenance preferred.
Additional Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Ability to use a personal computer and standard business software. Microsoft Office suite and working knowledge of SAP and PaSTA highly desirable.
- Basic understanding of the processes, systems, assets, resources, key personnel, and functions of the Maintenance Department.
- Demonstrated ability to operate effectively in a team environment
- Ability to effectively communicate (verbal and written) at all levels of the organization
- Ability to establish and maintain a positive and professional working relationship with all individuals
- Knowledge of applicable safety and environmental regulations
Physical Requirements (Demand and Frequency):
- Requires wearing personal protective safety equipment (safety glasses, gloves, hard hat, appropriate footwear, ear plugs, etc.)
- Ability to work around rotating and energized equipment, hazardous materials, and chemicals.
- Requires standing, sitting, walking, kneeling, twisting, climbing stairs and ladders, and entering plant equipment to access, inspect or collect data on plant equipment.
