About the Role
As a Junior Site Superintendent, you will play a key leadership role in overseeing the construction process and ensuring all activities are completed on time, on budget, and to the highest quality standards. You’ll be responsible for planning, organizing, directing, and controlling activities on site, while fostering strong relationships with colleagues, consultants, subcontractors, and stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and enforce health and safety policies, investigate incidents, and implement corrective measures.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with colleagues, consultants, subcontractors, and stakeholders.
- Ensure a high standard of workmanship and accuracy in all activities.
- Assist with site mobilization and setup in collaboration with the Project Manager and Project Coordinator.
- Coordinate daily activities of trades, subcontractors, and suppliers to keep projects on time and on budget.
- Monitor project progress and costs, providing regular updates to management.
- Address and resolve client concerns quickly and effectively.
- Provide constructive feedback on design, workmanship, and subcontractor performance.
- Ensure all design specifications are met.
- Stay current on construction practices, technology, and industry standards.
About You You’re a great fit for this role if you have:
- A construction-related degree or diploma, plus at least five years of interior construction experience in the ICI sector (or an equivalent combination of training and experience).
- Strong knowledge of scheduling, project management, and contract administration software.
- Solid understanding of construction equipment, techniques, drawings, specifications, and materials.
- Experience directing site personnel, planning schedules, determining manpower/material needs, and ensuring the right resources are in place.
- Health and safety credentials such as Working at Heights, First Aid, and Basics of Supervision.
Location: The head office is based in Oakville, ON, with job sites located throughout the GTA.
