Technology Support Specialist – Agricultural Innovation & Automation
Location: Taber, AB. Western Canada (Travel required)
Job Type: Full-time | Permanent | Monday to Friday + On-Call Support
Are you passionate about cutting-edge agricultural technology? Do you love solving complex problems, supporting innovative systems, and making a real impact on farming efficiency? If so, this role is tailor-made for you.
We’re on the hunt for a forward-thinking Technology Support Specialist to join a high-energy team revolutionizing farming through optical sorting, automation, ventilation controls, fertigation systems, and data-driven solutions. You’ll play a key role in helping customers and internal teams set up, troubleshoot, and optimize technology that drives modern agriculture forward.
Responsibilities:
- Set up, test, and troubleshoot state-of-the-art systems: optical sorters, ventilation controls, line automation, and fertigation equipment.
- Become a trusted advisor to customers by maintaining accurate equipment records and proactively preparing them for peak-season performance.
- Develop tools like training videos and manuals to minimize downtime and simplify complex processes.
- Stay ahead of the curve by mastering the latest tech in both new and used equipment — and help others do the same through engaging internal and external training sessions.
- Lead technical projects from planning and installation through to commissioning and client handover.
- Serve as the go-to tech expert — internally and externally — with a solutions-first approach and a passion for delivering exceptional support.
Requirements: - 2–5 years of hands-on experience in agriculture (sales, service, or training). Row crop familiarity is a plus.
- A diploma or degree in an agricultural field or equivalent experience.
- Excellent communication skills and the confidence to handle challenging tech issues.
- Strong English skills and bonus points for fluency in French, Dutch, or German.
- A highly organized, detail-obsessed mindset — with the flexibility to juggle multiple priorities in a dynamic setting.
- A talent for reading schematics, understanding complex systems, and improving documentation.
- Willingness to travel primarily within Western Canada (with occasional trips to North America and Europe).
- A driven, solution-oriented attitude — you see possibilities where others see problems.
Benefits: - A competitive salary: $75,000.00 per year.
- Company phone
- Company laptop
- Use of company car when on the road for customers
- Comprehensive benefits including:
- Disability Insurance
- Dental & Vision Care
- Life Insurance
- Extended Health Coverage
- Holiday & Paid Time Off
- Employee Discounts
- Career development through training programs (when available)
