We are hiring a Class 1 Driver & Yard/Shop Worker for a full-time, permanent role in Taber, AB. This position offers the opportunity to work hands-on with advanced row crop farming equipment (potatoes, carrots, onions, beans, garlic, and more) while traveling across Alberta and Saskatchewan. Key Responsibilities:
- Assemble, troubleshoot, and maintain farm machinery both in the shop and in the field
- Drive, pre-inspect, and operate trucks, including transporting wide loads
- Pick up and deliver equipment and parts, ensuring proper documentation
- Perform basic vehicle maintenance and adhere to all safety standards
- Read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, and schematics for equipment repairs
- Install, retrofit, and fabricate production equipment as needed (including welding)
- Maintain a clean and organized work area in both the shop and on-site
- Diagnose and repair equipment at various locations as required
- Follow all safety procedures and ensure a secure work environment
- Take on additional duties as needed, adapting to evolving job requirements
What We’re Looking For: - Valid Class 1 Driver’s License with a clean driver’s abstract
- Dependable, self-motivated team player with strong communication skills
- Knowledge of parts and machinery, preferably with row crop equipment
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and manuals
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work with minimal supervision
- Mechanical skills, including troubleshooting electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical systems
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities
- Strong computer and technology proficiency
- Valid forklift certification is an asset
