We are hiring an HVAC Technician for a full-time, temporary position in Taber, AB, with opportunities to work across Alberta and Saskatchewan. In this role, you will play a vital part in supporting row crop farmers by installing, maintaining, and repairing HVAC systems for specialty crop storage (potatoes, carrots, onions, beans, garlic, and more).
Key Responsibilities:
- Install, repair, and maintain heating and ventilation systems in agricultural storage facilities
- Read and interpret blueprints and schematics for accurate installations and troubleshooting
- Test electrical circuits and components, ensuring systems operate safely and efficiently
- Diagnose and resolve HVAC issues, including refrigerant leaks, compressor failures, and thermostat malfunctions
- Work closely with contractors and clients to meet project specifications and budgets
- Follow all safety regulations, including confined space protocols and protective equipment requirements
- Maintain detailed records of work performed, materials used, and costs incurred
- Train apprentices and supervise junior technicians
- Stay current with industry standards and new HVAC technologies through training programs
What We’re Looking For: - High school diploma or equivalent; HVAC technology certificate or diploma preferred
- Hands-on experience with heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems
- Strong communication skills and problem-solving abilities
- Knowledge of safety regulations and best practices
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
