Are you a passionate and engaging early years primary teacher looking to teach in a community school in the Pilbara? Do you inspire to teach in a culturally rich school, whilst living only 45 minutes from town? A remote Aboriginal community school is currently seeking a teacher for 2024 who has a strong knowledge of the curriculum to embrace hands-on Two-way learning through cross-cultural themes.
Located in the Pilbara, approximately 45 minutes from Port Hedland, the school has approximately 15 - 25 students enrolled and is a two-teacher school. The school values and promotes the cultural heritage of its students and consistently utilises and builds upon the local cultural knowledge and experiences of the students, their family and their community. The language, culture and history of the students and their community is highly respected and embraced by the school and its programs. Literacy, numeracy and On-Country learning are central components of the school's curriculum. This is a full-time position from Term 3, 2026 for a 12 month contract. 6 month contracts will also be considered. There is a strong possibility of extending. There is a position for a partner/friend including maintenance, cooking, gardening etc.

- Salary range $91,449 to $130,216 per annum (dependent on skills and experience)

Requirements To be considered for this opportunity, you will need to possess and/or demonstrate:
- TRBWA registration and Working with Children Clearance Check (or ability to obtain one.)
- Bachelor degree (or equivalent) in primary education
- Comprehensive knowledge of the curriculum
- A passion for living in a remote community
- A high standard of competency and proficiency as a classroom teacher
- The capacity to differentiate and cater for different learning needs
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Good administrative skills
- A willingness to work collaboratively with staff and community.
- Ability to build relationships and listen to the needs of the students, school and community
- Be prepared to learn from your students, and teaching methods from Indigenous staff.
Desirable criteria include:
- A current manual driver's licence
- Experience in teaching Indigenous students
- ESL/EALD teaching experience
Experienced teachers and outstanding graduates will be considered.
