Are you a highly successful and knowledgeable educator with a proven track record of working in genuine partnership with Indigenous people? Are you an enthusiastic leader who is looking to take their next set in their leadership journey? A small school in the Kimberley is looking for a principal from Term 2 2026, to lead, manage and support their school community. This is a unique opportunity to be part of the next phase of the school.
The school arose from a desire by the community to gain independence over the education of their children to remain strong and proud in their own culture and identity. The community believed their school should be governed by the local people and their cultural, kinship and traditional values would form the foundation for their children's education. The school now enrols 70 students across Years K-10.
Through your role, you will have a deep appreciation and respect for Aboriginal ways of living and be committed to learning about local culture, when invited by the community. You will be supporting a team-teaching approach with Aboriginal Educators supporting teachers in the classroom with students.
Beginning from Term 2, there is flexibility in either a one term position, or until the end of 2026, with a strong possibility of extending. There is also a year 4 - 5 teaching role available.
