A coeducational Prep-Year 6 school in Mount Isa, committed to the belief that teachers are the key to improving student learning outcomes, is seeking three dedicated upper-primary teachers (Years 4, 5 and 6). The school community is highly multicultural, with students and families from a wide range of cultural backgrounds. Around 60% of students identify as First Nations, and there is a strong emphasis on belonging, connection and inclusive practice. The school aims to develop students who are confident and creative individuals, successful lifelong learners, and active, informed members of the community.
 
With class sizes between 15 to 25, you'll teach the Australian Curriculum with a strong focus on literacy and numeracy, helping students develop the skills and knowledge they need to become confident, creative and capable learners who contribute meaningfully to their community. High expectations and evidence-based teaching are at the heart of the school's approach, and you'll be supported to implement practices that lead to genuine student growth. Comprehensive wellbeing and learning support programs are embedded across the school. These include MultiLit, MiniLit, PreLit, Cued Articulation, Learning Connections, You Can Do It, 1-2-3 Magic and Emotion Coaching, Zones of Regulation and Seasons for Growth, all of which contribute to a consistent and supportive learning environment. Learning is built on strong partnerships, where students feel valued, connected and engaged in an inclusive environment.

Each student has access to a Chromebook, and all classrooms are equipped with large interactive screens. You'll be supported through comprehensive induction and training in the school's key programs.

There are three full-time position beginning 2026 ASAP or Term 2. A range of employment opportunities are also available for partners, including maintenance, gardening, administration, and education assistant roles.

The school will provide the following benefits -

• Salary range $86,600 to $124,724 per annum (plus 12.75% super)
• Remote annual payment of $1800 first year, $2,100 second year, $3,100 third year, $4,400 fourth year, $4,400 fifth year, $4,400 sixth and subsequent years. (half in June and half in December)
• $2,000 travel allowance (paid fortnightly)
• 4 days additional leave (emergent leave days)

What You'll Need to Succeed!
To be considered for this opportunity, you will need to possess and/or demonstrate:

• Queensland College of Teachers registration (or ability to)
• Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in education
• To be able to work as a member of a committed team of professional teachers, dedicated to providing quality teaching and learning in partnership with the parent community
• To have an understanding of contemporary pedagogy and the ability to differentiate, and provide for, a diverse range of abilities
• To have the ability to collaborate and work positively as a part of a professional learning community
• To have a willingness to change and develop instructional strategies to increase student growth and achievement 
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Good administrative skills
• Although it's not a requirement to be Catholic, you need to have knowledge of and support the Catholic ethos and mission of the school
