A senior secondary college in Alice Springs is looking for a Manager of Teaching and Learning to inspire and attract students to enjoy, achieve and develop skills. You will work in a college that is flexible and responsive to the diverse needs of each of its students in Years 10, 11 and 12. As part of a strong educational team, you will strive for excellence in a culturally responsive framework of relationship-based teaching and learning with a strong focus on data informed case management in a flexible learning environment of approximately 18 students.
In this leadership role, you will provide educational leadership and management of the delivery of the SACE curriculum to to students who require a trauma informed case management response. This includes planning, developing, and overseeing the implementation of effective educational programs, as well as applying appropriate student wellbeing management for the assigned learning areas and students across the Flexible learning program. You will use student data to design and deliver effective curriculum programs and pathways, including collaborating with the NCCD coordinator to deliver suitable programs. while leading targeted professional development for teachers. You will support the strategic allocation of students, staff, and resources to maximise learning outcomes and manage budgets, and coordinate strategies that promote student wellbeing, behaviour, attendance, retention, and academic success. Working collaboratively, you will build strong partnerships with students, staff, families, departmental officers, and external stakeholders, and lead the development and implementation of Individual Learning, Transition, and Educational Adjustment Plans. As part of the senior leadership team, you will provide effective team leadership, contribute to school improvement, and maintain an appropriate senior years teaching load as required. You will bring proven experience working in cross-cultural school environments, strong senior years teaching practice, high-level communication and organisational skills, and a demonstrated ability to lead teams through change to achieve positive student outcomes.
The school provides education to approximately 350 students in Years 10, 11 and 12 with over 55% of the student population are Aboriginal with 14% born overseas. The school holds high expectations for their students whilst building positive learning partnerships to support all learners. The school offers students a number of career pathways for them to explore as well as strong community connections to support learners' transition to work. The school supports learners aspiring to explore further education through a strong focus on data informed case management to ensure leaners achieve their goals.
