Join an innovative system of residential schools that are on country across the remote north of Australia. In partnership with the Indigenous Education and Research Centre (IERC), this initiative is co-led and co-designed in with local communities to foster Indigenous success with a strong focus on local culture and language. Situated on Bunuba Country, approximately an hour from Fitzroy Crossing, the school is committed to empowering Indigenous students to create a future filled with pride, belonging, and achievement. The school is a place of practical, hands-on learning with a holistic learning framework.

The Community Engagement Officer and Registrar plays a crucial role in fostering strong relationships between the school and its community while managing student enrolment and records. This multi- faceted position involves developing and implementing strategies to enhance community involvement, acting as the primary liaison between the school and local stakeholders, and organising community events and communications. Additionally, the role involves overseeing the enrolment and registration process, maintaining accurate student records, ensuring compliance with regulations, and providing administrative support for admissions. The ideal candidate will have strong interpersonal, organisational, and communication skills, with a passion for education and community engagement. You will help create a supportive and collaborative environment that enhances the educational experience for students and strengthens the school's connection to its community.
The Four Circles of Learning are embedded within the school, providing a holistic educational framework. This framework integrates Indigenous Language and Culture, Academic Learning, Personal and Social Learning, and Enterprise Learning to provide a holistic education. The mother circle of Indigenous Language and Culture circle grounds students in their cultural identity, boosting their self- efficacy and sense of self. Academic Learning focuses on intellectual development and preparing students for the future by enhancing their capacity for independent learning. Personal and Social Learning helps students envision a confident and successful future as Indigenous Australians. Finally, Enterprise Learning aims to develop dispositions in our students to ensure they become productive members of local community, who are driven to support those around them.

Responsibilities
- Collaborate with Principal and the SSA leadership on enrolment strategy, including following up inactive students on the school roll for re-engagement. Manage the student database, ensuring accurate and up-to-date records. Assist families with ABSTUDY applications. Coordinate the transfer of student records to and from other educational institutions.
- Collect student information required for government reporting and compliance purposes. Prepare and manage enrolment reports, statistics, and other data as required by the Principals.
- Oversee the enrolment and registration process for new and returning students, ensuring accurate and efficient data entry.
- Organise and participate in community events and meetings to promote school programs and initiatives in partnership with the community. Provide administrative support for school admissions processes, including conducting tours and providing information to prospective families. Develop and implement with the Principal strategies to enhance community involvement and partnerships.
- Knowledge of privacy legislation (Privacy Act 1988), student record-keeping requirements, and government reporting obligations including NCCD and census data collection Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and policies regarding student records and confidentiality.
- Manage communication channels with the Principal such as newsletters, social media, and the school website to keep the community informed and engaged.
- Facilitate parental involvement in school activities, ensuring parents are well-informed and engaged.

Requirements You will be required to undergo a National Police Check and obtain a WA Working With Children check in addition to,
- Bachelor's degree in Education, Communications, Administration, or a related field, and/or experience in community engagement, public relations or a similar role.
- Community and Stakeholder Engagement: Ability to build positive relationships with students, families, community members, and external partners in remote Indigenous communities .
- Strong organisational and administrative skills, including experience with student databases and ensuring compliance with reporting requirements. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (particularly Excel) and experience with student information systems such as CASES21, Compass, or similar database platforms
- Minimum 2 years' experience in community engagement, student services, or administrative roles. Experience with student information systems or database management.
- Interest in supporting young Aboriginal people to achieve success and wellbeing.
- Experience in education, not-for-profit, or community-controlled organisations.
