Situated in a small coastal community, approximately 400 km from Darwin, a Children and Family Centre offers a unique opportunity for dedicated and passionate educators. As the early childhood room leader, you’ll collaborate closely with locally employed staff, gaining valuable insights from the local Aboriginal community. Supported by a small and committed team, your ideas and contributions can make a meaningful impact on both the service and the broader community. As one of the largest remote communities in Australia, the community has a range of services including an art centre, a Catholic school, police and emergency services, local government services, a community store and an airstrip.
We have two full time permanent positions available. They would prefer a leader looking for ongoing, however, are open to a placement from 6 months, for the right leader. There will be an opportunity to speak with a current employee to ensure the organisation is the right fit for you!

- Trauma Responsive Practice in Education course with the Australian Childhood
- Cultural Competency course with Stronger Smarter Institute (one term+ contracts).
- First aid certification (6 month+ contracts).
What You Need to Succeed! - Diploma in early childhood or ACECQA approved equivalent
- Current National Police Clearance and NT Working With Children Card (Ochre Card), as well as satisfactory National Police Clearance
- 1 years’ experience as a room leader or above
- Organisational skills including include general organising, planning, time management, scheduling, coordinating resources and meeting deadlines
- Interpersonal and communication skills
- Understanding of, and commitment to comply with the organisation’s code of ethics, vision (spirit), policies and procedures and to support the organisations culture
- Experience in building successful relationships with staff, families and community
- A commitment to continuous improvement and efficiencies in service delivery
- Knowledge of relevant state and commonwealth laws and regulations
- Current First Aid and CPR Desirable
- Experience working in a remote community
