Located on Central Arrernte land, approximately 2.5 hours from Alice Springs, a remote school is excited to welcome a Transition (Foundation) to Year 3 teacher for 2025! With around 41 students at the school, class sizes range from 1 to 10, providing the opportunity for highly personalised teaching. The school integrates Read Write Inc. (RWI) into its literacy program and employs the Learning Through Doing approach to make mathematics engaging and practical. With smaller class sizes, you’ll build strong connections with students, tailoring lessons to their individual needs and fostering their growth. Additionally, you’ll collaborate with local Anangu educators to incorporate their knowledge and perspectives into the curriculum through On Country learning experiences.
Living in a remote community requires adaptability, flexibility and resilience but offers personal growth, professional development, and the chance to make a meaningful impact. The town has a small population of 130 and is supported by essential services, including a medical clinic, general store, Australia Post services, an airstrip, night patrol, and aged care facilities. Weekends provide the perfect opportunity to explore the region's stunning natural beauty, with activities like camping, bushwalking, and embracing the tranquillity of the outback.
