Fleetwood is looking for an experienced Business Development Manager to join our Sales team based in Para Hills, with a dedicated focus on growing our presence across the Housing and Education sectors.
Be part of a growing industry, this is an exciting time to join the modular building industry. As customers look for faster, more flexible and efficient ways to deliver new buildings, modular construction is creating new possibilities across housing, education and infrastructure. South Australia presents an exciting market for continued growth, giving you the opportunity to develop new relationships, uncover emerging projects and play a genuine role in growing Fleetwood’s presence across the state.

Reporting to the State Manager SA, you’ll take a proactive approach to identifying where future opportunities are emerging, building relationships within these priority markets and positioning Fleetwood’s modular building capabilities to meet changing customer and project needs.
Rather than simply responding to opportunities as they arise, you’ll focus on building strong market connections, developing a healthy pipeline and creating new avenues for growth. From early customer engagement and opportunity development through to bids, commercial negotiations and project handover, you’ll play an important role in converting market opportunities into long-term partnerships.

Key responsibilities

• Drive business development activity across the Housing and Education sectors, building a strong pipeline of future opportunities.
• Develop new customer relationships and strengthen Fleetwood’s connections with key stakeholders and decision-makers within these markets.
• Identify emerging projects, customer needs and market opportunities where modular construction can provide an effective solution.
• Develop opportunities from early engagement through qualification, proposal, tender and commercial negotiation.
• Monitor market activity and competitor movements to identify areas for growth and strengthen Fleetwood’s market position.
• Work closely with internal teams to shape solutions around customer, project and commercial requirements.
• Build long-term customer relationships that support repeat business and future opportunities.
• Maintain accurate CRM and pipeline activity and represent Fleetwood at customer, industry and project meetings.

About you
You’re an experienced Business Development professional who enjoys opening doors, developing markets and turning early opportunities into long-term commercial relationships. You’ll bring a strong understanding of project-based business development and be confident engaging with customers and stakeholders well before a project reaches the tender stage. You’ll know how to uncover what a customer needs, recognise where opportunities are developing and bring the right people together to create a compelling solution.

Experience across housing, education, construction, property development or major project environments would be highly regarded. Just as importantly, you’ll have the commercial thinking, relationship-building capability and drive to grow Fleetwood’s presence across these priority markets.
What you’ll bring

• Minimum five years’ experience in business development, market development or a similar commercially focused role.
• Demonstrated ability to identify and develop new markets, customers and project opportunities.
• Strong commercial acumen with experience across bids, tenders, proposals and negotiations.
• Ability to develop relationships with customers, decision-makers and other key stakeholders.
• Strong understanding of longer, project-based sales cycles and pipeline development.
• Confident written, verbal, presentation and negotiation skills.
• A proactive approach to developing new business and pursuing opportunities.
• Strong capability across Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook and CRM systems.
