21st January, 2026
Location: Melbourne (Docklands) Or Sydney (Parramatta)
Role type: Permanent | Hybrid (50/50 split)
️ Team: IT configuration team (BAs, config analysts, developers)
MUST have deep Superannuation domain experience 3 years minimum— specifically with Insurance and Legislation — and be comfortable operating as a hybrid BA/technical resource who can speak to both business stakeholders and technical teams.
Our client, a specialist pensions & market services team within a major financial services group, is looking for a hands-on Technical Business Analyst to join their IT configuration team. This is a permanent, hybrid role (approx. 50/50 on-site)
Why this role matters
Over the next quarter — and through the next 6-18 months — the team will deliver a heavy program of insurance and legislative change to core superannuation systems. You'll be joining an IT-facing team of BAs, configuration analysts and developers working primarily on BAU configuration projects (~20-day cycles) and evolving into larger change and migration work.
What you'll be doing
Analyse business requirements and build clear configuration specifications for system changes.
Work across the SDLC: clarify requirements, support development and testing, assist with cutovers and post-production validation.
Execute day-to-day analysis using SQL and Excel (hands-on SQL required).
Configure/validate legacy registry systems and integrate with web services / APIs.
Log and manage work in JIRA (or similar) and thoroughly document client communications and status.
Support production escalations and perform root-cause analysis.
Collaborate with internal stakeholders, vendors and offshore teams to deliver integrated solutions.
What we need from you — Must haves
Demonstrated Superannuation domain expertise, including insurance and legislation change experience.
Experience in a tech-facing BA/configuration role working directly with IT and business teams with 3 years minimum.
Practical experience configuring or administering superannuation registry platforms (Gatekeeper is a 1:1 match, FMS desirable; SAAS / Superb or similar also relevant).
Experience working with web services / API setups and familiarity with legacy system configuration.
Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills — able to translate between business rules and technical implementation.
Comfortable working in an outsourced/offshore model and logging work in JIRA.
Permanent right to work in Australia (local candidates only).
Nice to have
Prior experience on large-scale migration projects and data cutovers.
Exposure to Java/Oracle environments.
Background in underwriting tools and product configuration for insurance within superannuation.
What's on offer
Permanent role with a market-leading pensions team.
Hybrid working model (50/50 onsite).
Immediate opportunity to work on high-priority legislative and insurance change programs.
