Business Development Manager – Mining

Timmins and Surrounding Areas, Ontario | Home-Based | Vehicle Allowance | Uncapped Commission

You Know How to Open Doors. Now Build Something Bigger.

Some salespeople manage accounts. Others create opportunities where none existed. We're looking for the latter.

Are you the kind of business developer who enjoys identifying untapped opportunities, getting in front of decision-makers, and turning cold prospects into long-term customers? Do you know how to open doors in a competitive market, build credibility, and turn a first conversation into a profitable business relationship?

If winning new business is what motivates you, this could be your next career move.

At Castolin Eutectic, we offer the opportunity to develop your own territory, establish relationships with mining operations across Timmins and surrounding communities, and grow a business backed by a recognized global technology leader.
With more than 120 years of experience in welding consumables, wear protection, thermal spray technologies, and engineered maintenance solutions, we help heavy industries reduce downtime, extend equipment life, and improve productivity.

Your mission: Find the opportunities, win the business, and grow the market.

The Opportunity: Build Your Own Market

As Business Development Manager – Mining, you will take the lead in developing new business for our Wear Services division. This is a hunter-focused, territory development role for someone who is energized by prospecting, enjoys the challenge of winning new customers, and knows that sustainable growth starts with getting out into the market.
You will identify opportunities within mining operations, construction companies, fabrication shops, and other heavy industries, introducing customers to solutions that address real operational challenges.
Working from a home-based office, you will have the autonomy to organize your territory, develop your prospecting strategy, and build a pipeline of opportunities across the Timmins mining region.

 What You'll Do
Prospect. Connect. Win. Grow.

• Open New Doors: Proactively identify and pursue new customers, uncovering opportunities within mining operations and other heavy industrial accounts.
• Generate Your Own Pipeline: Use cold calling, targeted outreach, networking, site visits, referrals, and industry research to identify prospects and secure meetings with key decision-makers.
• Turn Prospects into Customers: Build relationships with maintenance managers, reliability teams, engineers, procurement professionals, and other stakeholders to understand their challenges and position the right solutions.
• Develop Your Territory: Create and execute a strategic business development plan focused on new account acquisition, market penetration, and profitable growth.
• Sell Solutions, Not Just Products: Introduce customers to our wear protection technologies and services, including CDP wearplate, CastoChrome, Castodur, LaserClad, and other engineered solutions.
• Build a Sustainable Opportunity Pipeline: Track prospects, customer interactions, quotations, and opportunities in Microsoft Dynamics CRM, maintaining visibility on your sales pipeline and future business.
• Collaborate to Win: Work with our Services Team, Product Managers, and technical specialists to develop customer-specific solutions and convert opportunities into sales.
• Own Your Results: Achieve sales, revenue, and gross profit targets while expanding our presence in the region.
• Stay Close to the Market: Monitor competitors, identify emerging customer needs, and represent Castolin Eutectic at relevant industry events and trade shows.

Who We're Looking For

We are looking for a natural prospector—not simply someone who maintains an existing customer base.

You may already be a successful technical sales representative, business development professional, or industrial sales specialist. You know how to identify potential customers, get past the gatekeeper, earn a meeting, and build trust with people who may not know your company or its solutions yet.
You are comfortable working independently, creating your own opportunities, and taking ownership of your results.
You bring:

• A proven ability to prospect for new business and convert leads into customers.
• Experience with cold calling, outbound sales, new account acquisition, and developing untapped territories.
• A hunter mentality, with the persistence and confidence to approach new prospects and turn initial resistance into productive conversations.
• Experience selling technical products, industrial services, or engineered solutions in mining, manufacturing, construction, or other heavy industries.
• Strong commercial instincts and the ability to uncover customer needs and communicate business value.
• Mechanical aptitude and a basic understanding of maintenance, repair welding, or industrial wear management.
• Excellent communication, relationship-building, organizational, and time-management skills.
• The self-discipline to manage a home-based territory and maintain an active sales pipeline.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and CRM systems.

Education and experience:

• Engineering degree in Materials or Mechanical Engineering preferred.
• Ideally, 5–10 years of relevant industrial sales or business development experience, particularly in wear services or related heavy industries.
• Ability to travel up to 60% throughout the territory.

We value the ability to develop business and win new customers. If you have a strong track record in industrial prospecting and the technical aptitude to learn our solutions, we want to hear from you.

What Makes This Opportunity Different?
The freedom to build. The technology to deliver. The opportunity to earn.

• Competitive base salary: $90,000–$105,000, depending on experience.
• Uncapped commission: Your earning potential grows as you develop your territory and win new business.
• Typical total earnings: $110,000–$150,000+, with additional upside based on performance.
• Performance bonus opportunities.
• Vehicle allowance to support your travel throughout the territory.
• Home-based flexibility: Organize your day and territory while taking ownership of your results.
• Strong technical support: Partner with experienced service and product specialists to develop solutions for your customers.
• Comprehensive benefits: Medical and dental coverage, Health Spending Account (HSA), life insurance, short- and long-term disability, Employee Assistance Program (EAP), and telemedicine.
• Company RRSP with employer contributions.
• Ongoing technical training and career development.

Ready for Your Next Challenge?
If you have the drive to find new customers, the confidence to build relationships from scratch, and the ambition to grow a territory with significant earning potential, we'd like to meet you.
