The Company
A highly respected manufacturing company, delivering engineered building solutions to residential and commercial customers. The organisation has a strong local footprint, a stable project pipeline, and a reputation for quality, compliance, and long-term customer relationships.

Your Role
As part of the leadership team, you will lead the Engineering and Design function, managing a small technical team and working closely with customers to ensure time-critical, compliant and commercially sound solutions.

You will take ownership of design processes from concept through to delivery, balancing technical integrity with client expectations and operational realities.
Key responsibilities include:

• Leading and mentoring a small Drafting Team to deliver high-quality drawings and plans
• Provide technical support to the Sales, Pre-Production and Site Installation teams
• Overseeing technical drawings, specifications, and design documentation and ensure high level accuracy
• Acting as the first point of contact in technical and customer interfaces
• Ensuring compliance with Australian Standards and relevant regulations
• Supporting project delivery with buildable, efficient design solutions
• Improving systems, workflows, and design efficiency over time

About You
You are a technically credible professional who enjoys leadership, structure, and working with customers.  A strong and proven level of experience within the development and production of residential steel components, experience within manufacturing, construction systems, or engineered building products will be highly regarded.  You will ideally bring:

• A degree in Engineering or Architecture
• Experience leading or supervising a technical or design team
• Strong customer and stakeholder management skills
• The ability to review, guide, and approve design outcomes
• A practical, solutions-focused mindset
• Excellent communication skills and sound judgement
