Your Role
You will accurately and effectively deliver projects by planning and overseeing jobs on time and on budget, in an efficient and safe manner throughout Adelaide. Reporting to the Project Director, you will plan all construction operations, undertake smart business decisions, and your daily duties will require you to be responsible for the following;
- Management of projects and personnel required
- Plan all construction operations and Schedule phases along with Staging Plans to ensure deadlines will be met
- Prepare relevant and reliable forecasts and schedules including staging plans
- Create and present reports to directors to ensure communication is current (weekly basis or as practical as possible)
- Analyse and evaluate quotes from contractors and suppliers
- Negotiate contracts with external vendors to reach profitable agreements
- Explore documentation in order to gain a deep understanding of each project requirements
- Collaborate with engineers, architects etc, to determine the specifications of each project
- Ensure modifications to drawings are accurately completed to suit requirements of clients, council, engineers and architects
- Determine needed resources (manpower, equipment and materials) from start to finish with attention to budgetary limitations
- Hire contractors and other staff and allocate responsibilities
- Maintain Customer Data Base and Liaison
- Communicate directly with clients both commercial and industrial
- Complete inspections to monitor quality of workmanship and ensure they are meeting expectations
- Completion of Legal Documentation
- Develop and implement office systems to suit project if needed
- Administration - Prepare project folders and tenders
- OH&S - Maintain a safe working environment to demonstrate a duty of care
- Prepare temporary fencing to be constructed on property if required
- Ensure security of office, projects and personal information
- Assist with new employee induction through on the job training and assessment
Other Details The position is a full-time permanent role, Monday to Friday, (possible Saturday hours where required, but not excessive). Salary guide is $150 – 180K + Super with Company Motor Vehicle, negotiable for the right person with demonstrated excellence in the field. You will be required to undertake relevant pre-employment medical, police and reference clearances.
About You - Relevant tertiary degree or equivalent experience in Project Management, or similar
- Demonstrated experience managing multiple projects at once
- Minimum five years’ experience in commercial/industrial construction and project delivery
- A full understanding of end-to-end project management through all phases from site identification, analysis, feasibility, design and completion
- Advanced understanding of property development issues surrounding major projects, tendering and construction
- Ability to read both commercial and industrial plans
- Previous experience estimating commercial and/or industrial projects is ideal
- Organised administration, office management and high attention to detail
- A sound level of computer literacy including data base management, Microsoft Outlook & Office and internet
- Solid decision-making skills
