About the Role
We are seeking a Principal Structural Engineer with specialist experience in overhead transmission line structures to support the design and delivery of high-voltage transmission line projects. 

Working closely with electrical, civil and other engineering disciplines, you will review and verify structural designs, resolve technical challenges and support project delivery from detailed design through to construction.
Key Responsibilities

• Undertake and review structural analysis and design of overhead transmission line towers, poles and associated structures.
• Perform and verify structural calculations, including assessments of loading, member forces, stability and structural adequacy.
• Review and approve structural engineering calculations, drawings and technical deliverables to ensure compliance with client specifications and relevant Australian and international standards.
• Coordinate structural design activities with electrical, civil and geotechnical engineering teams to ensure integrated project outcomes.
• Review tower loading requirements, structural interfaces and foundation reactions, providing technical input where required.
• Respond to technical queries, participate in design and construction reviews, and resolve structural engineering issues.
• Provide specialist technical guidance and advice to engineering team members and identify opportunities to improve design methods and engineering efficiency.

About You

• Tertiary qualifications in Structural or Civil Engineering, or equivalent relevant experience.
• 10+ years' experience in the utilities, construction or resources industry, specifically in transmission line engineering.
• Demonstrated experience in the structural design and analysis of overhead transmission line towers, poles or associated structures.
• Experience with structural calculations, loading assessments, member design and verification of engineering deliverables.
• Knowledge of relevant Australian and international structural engineering standards and transmission line design requirements.
• Experience using structural analysis software such as PLS-TOWER, PLS-POLE, STAAD.Pro or SAP2000.
• Strong analytical, numerical and problem-solving skills, with a high level of technical accuracy.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively across multidisciplinary engineering teams.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and the ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines.
• Willingness to travel to project sites and client locations as required.
• Current C-Class WA driver's licence.
