Exact Contracting are seeking a workshop supervisor to join their remote civil construction and mining projects in the Northern Territory.
This role will be a site based workshop role and reporting directly to the Maintenance Manager and Project Manager.
You will be responsible for supervising safe and cost effective maintenance activities on projects.
Responsibilities:
- Leading from the front and driving our culture and vision to lead the industry through safety;
- Effectively managing resources to ensure achievement of maintenance schedules;
- Driving operational efficiencies;
- Providing effective leadership and supervision through ‘on the ground’ presence, direction, guidance and feedback to teams and individuals;
- Inspiring and encouraging others towards goal achievement;
- Periodically assessing employee performance by conducting scheduled appraisals in accordance with performance objectives and prepares corrective and development plans as necessary;
- Resolving problems and conflict arising within the crew;
- As required this position will also be responsible for “being on the tools” and carrying out the servicing, repair, and maintenance of the company's mobile plant equipment, as well as fault finding & diagnostics to assist the prevention of break downs or unexpected down time of machinery.
Role Requirements: - Heavy Diesel Fitter Trade qualification;
- Current drivers licence;
- Experience in supervisory/management role;
- Experience maintaining Caterpillar, Komatsu, Hitachi mobile equipment;
- Experience in maintaining Kenworth and Mack Trucks and a wide range of ancillary gear;
- Previous civil/mining industry experience and solid understanding of mobile plant and crushing operation and maintenance;
- Experience with and confident using Microsoft Office and maintenance related systems (e.g., MEX);
- Effective planning ability, time management, and prioritisation;
- Confident communicator with the ability to effectively liaise with other employees, clients, suppliers and sub-contractors;
- Self-motivated with a positive attitude;
- Desire to work in remote locations; and
- Have a hands on approach.
