Senior Remedial Building Consultant/Remedial Engineer
PKL Recruitment is an experienced Senior Remedial Building Consultant to lead defect investigations, prepare remedial documentation and manage projects across residential and commercial buildings.
About the Role
You will carry out site inspections, diagnose defects, prepare clear and accurate reports, scopes and specifications, and oversee remedial projects through all stages. The role involves working closely with clients, contractors and design practitioners while supporting junior consultants and maintaining high technical standards.
Key Responsibilities
• Conduct site investigations and diagnose building defects
• Prepare defect reports, scopes, tenders and contract documentation
• Provide recommendations for building repairs and remediation
• Coordinate with design practitioners under the DBP Act 2020
• Manage and oversee remedial projects from planning to completion
• Liaise with clients, contractors and suppliers
• Support teams with technical problem-solving
• Build and maintain strong client relationships
• Mentor junior consultants and support team development
Skills & Experience
• 7+ years’ experience in remedial construction (residential/commercial)
• Strong experience in defect assessment and on-site inspections
• Ability to prepare detailed reports, methodologies and specifications
• Experience administering construction contracts and managing projects
• Knowledge of NCC, Australian Standards and construction practices
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Experience in strata environments is advantageous
• Strong organisation, time management and attention to detail
• Professional presentation and commitment to quality
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and project management tools
