PKL Recruitment is working with one of our valued clients to find a Senior Remedial Building Consultant / Remedial Engineer to join their team. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced professional to contribute to a range of exciting and challenging projects within the remedial construction field.

Position: Senior Remedial Building Consultant / Remedial Engineer
Location: Lane Cove + Site Visits
Salary: $100k - $130k

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct site investigations and diagnose building defects, ensuring a detailed understanding of the issues at hand.
• Prepare comprehensive building defect reports with recommendations for general repairs.
• Develop scope of works documents, tender documentation, and contracts.
• Coordinate and liaise with regulated design practitioners under the Design and Building Practitioners Act 2020.
• Manage and oversee remedial building projects from planning through to execution, ensuring high standards are met.
• Ensure the timely delivery of projects, maintaining exceptional quality and expertise.
• Liaise with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure smooth project delivery and to foster lasting relationships.
• Support project teams with troubleshooting and resolving complex technical issues.
• Build and maintain strong client relationships through clear and professional communication.
• Mentor junior consultants, supporting their growth and fostering a culture of expertise and collaboration.

Skills and Attributes:

• Minimum 5 years of experience in residential/commercial remedial construction.
• Proven experience in conducting on-site assessments of building defects and producing high-quality:
  
  • Building Reports
  • Site Inspection Reports
  • Rectification Methodologies
  • Remedial Specifications
• Strong ability to administer construction contracts and provide Project Management services.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with attention to detail.
• In-depth knowledge of common construction details, building practices, Australian Standards, the National Construction Code (NCC), and industry best practices.
• Familiarity with current trends in construction and the technical/environmental demands on buildings.
• Experience in the strata industry is highly advantageous.
• Demonstrated leadership and team development skills.
• Exceptional time management, resilience, and a proactive approach to challenges.
• Professional demeanor with a commitment to delivering excellence.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and project management tools.
