The Opportunity
We are currently recruiting for an experienced Site Engineer to join a growing civil engineering and construction business, working on projects across Yorkshire.

This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated individual with a strong understanding of construction methods, setting out and site operations. You will play an important role in ensuring projects are delivered safely, efficiently and to the required quality standards.

Reporting to the Site Supervisor, Site Manager or Project Manager, you will support the day-to-day running of site activities, working closely with site operatives, subcontractors and the wider project team.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out setting out, surveying and other site engineering duties.
• Ensure construction activities are completed in accordance with the latest drawings, specifications and revisions.
• Conduct site inductions and deliver daily briefings to site personnel.
• Promote a safe working environment and ensure compliance with health, safety and environmental procedures.
• Check incoming deliveries thoroughly before signing for materials and equipment.
• Monitor the quality of works to ensure they meet project specifications and required standards.
• Assist with the daily coordination and management of site operatives and subcontractors.
• Ensure site attendance records, absence notifications and other relevant documentation are completed and submitted appropriately.
• Take pre-start photographs and record existing site conditions before work commences.
• Maintain regular photographic records of site progress, including work areas where activities are temporarily on hold.
• Capture completion photographs and maintain accurate project records.
• Collate and maintain as-built drawings and construction information.
• Ensure relevant paperwork is completed and returned to the appropriate office team.
• Undertake any additional duties reasonably required to support the successful delivery of projects.

Skills, Qualifications & Experience The successful candidate will ideally have:

• Previous experience in a Site Engineer or similar site-based role within civil engineering or construction.
• A sound understanding of construction techniques, methods and technical specifications.
• Good working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Good organisational and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively alongside site teams and subcontractors.
• A Site Supervisor Safety Training Scheme (SSSTS) certificate.
• A valid CSCS Site Supervisor card.
• An NVQ Level 3 in Construction Supervision or equivalent.
• A Temporary Works Supervisor qualification.
• NRSWA Supervisor accreditation.
• A valid First Aid certificate.
• A full UK driving licence and the ability to travel to sites across Yorkshire.
