Vehicle Technician / Mechanic

Salary: £30,000-£38,532 per year, depending on experience

The Opportunity
We are recruiting an experienced Vehicle Technician / Mechanic to join a busy, modern dealership in Cambridge.
This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified technician to join an established and growing automotive group that invests in its people through ongoing training, career development and a supportive working environment.
The successful candidate will work alongside an experienced team, carrying out vehicle servicing, repairs, inspections and diagnostics to ensure vehicles are maintained to a high standard.
Key Responsibilities

• Carry out vehicle servicing, maintenance, inspections and repairs in line with manufacturer standards.
• Diagnose mechanical and electrical faults using appropriate diagnostic equipment.
• Identify faults and recommend effective repair solutions.
• Complete electronic vehicle health checks and provide accurate reports with recommendations.
• Communicate any additional work required to the Service Manager promptly.
• Work collaboratively with the workshop team to ensure jobs are completed efficiently.
• Maintain a clean, organised and safe working environment.
• Follow all company procedures, manufacturer guidelines and health and safety requirements.
• Keep up to date with new vehicle technologies and technical developments.

Requirements

• NVQ Level 3 in Light Vehicle Maintenance and Repair, City & Guilds or an equivalent qualification.
• Strong knowledge of vehicle systems, components and repair procedures.
• Experience carrying out servicing, maintenance and mechanical repairs.
• Good diagnostic and fault-finding skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to high-quality workmanship.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team.
• Full UK driving licence.
• MOT Tester qualification is desirable but not essential.
• 8am to 5pm with a 3o minute break and 1 in 4 saturdays
